The aim of this unit is for students to understand that water, beyond being a source of life, can also pose risks. They will become familiar with hydrological hazards and learn about both their natural and human-induced causes, as well as how to distinguish between them. In addition, students will examine the factors that influence the occurrence of hydrological hazards (geomorphological and geological characteristics, as well as geographical location) and understand the difference between hydrological hazards and hydrological disasters. Finally, they will learn to identify common myths about hydrological hazards and challenge them using scientific evidence.
